Sophie (0131)

Breed: Terrier / Unknown
Sex: Female
Age: 0 years and 8 months
Size: Small

Details:

Hi, I am Sophie, a Cairn terrier mix of 9 months old and weigh less than 10 lbs. Previously, I lived with an 8 year old child and no other dogs and my owners gave me up because they felt that I had too much energy, but I am just a puppy, with a lot... More...... of love, snuggling, and puppy playtime to give! Did I mention that I absolutely love other dogs? My best friend is a Lowchen and I jump all over her trying to kiss her and learn from her, and sometimes she gets annoyed if I do it when she is sleeping so she corrects me – I can sometimes be a bit domineering. I like to play in the yard with her (we have Invisible Fence) and I love to run around, play ball and, in general, burn off some of my puppy energy. I am in love with snow – you can run in it, slide in it, roll in it, and eat it! I even love to crunch on ice cubes. I potty on command and barely have any accidents, and will sit by the door or jump up and down in front of the door to let you know I need to go out. Although my first half an hour in a new place makes me a bit nervous since loud noises alarm me, I adjust pretty quickly if you let me give you TONS of kisses because I sure love them! I am great in the crate and, after a few minutes, I will lay down and sleep peacefully with no accidents! My foster mom always puts a couple of treats in my crate so I cannot wait to get inside! I love to cuddle at night and will jump into laps to snuggle and watch TV. I love to be around people! I am very smart and learn quickly. I went to puppy training class and can sit on command, lay down, and roll over (doggy treats help me remember how to do these tricks). However, walking on a leash without pulling remains a challenge! Yes, I am energetic, but I am just a puppy - a sweet little girl and a bundle of love. I just need love, patience, and a routine and will make an amazing addition to a home that wants a dog who can truly be a play pal and a best friend! My Adoption Donation is $275

Zeus (0103)

Breed: Poodle / Unknown
Sex: Male
Age: 1 years and 5 months
Size: Small

Details:

This 15-pound poodle mix is a real love bug! Zeus loves belly rubs, playing fetch, chewing his Nylabone, and trying to get treats out of Kongs and other puzzle toys. He is a smart, active dog but does well in his crate during the workday. Zeus... More...... will sometimes chew on inappropriate objects and can leap up onto counters and tables, so for now it is best if he is crated when alone in the house. He does bark at noises and things he sees out the window (especially squirrels and cats) but pretty much quiets down at night. Zeus would probably do well with more experienced dog owners as he will try to be the top dog if you let him. He is still learning how to sit and greet people politely without jumping on them. He has lived with kids in the past but would do best with older kids. He knows sit, stay, leave it, and go potty, and is housebroken if let outside on a schedule. Zeus does not shed, which is a nice attribute. He has lived with other dogs in the past, but is reactive towards them when on a leash so his owner would need to work on this. He has shown some resource guarding with rawhides but not with food or toys. Zeus should not be in a home with cats or small pets. He is quite athletic and would probably do well in agility sports if trained. Zeus is wonderful raw material for someone who is willing to put in the extra time and effort! Zeus has an Adoption Donation of $275

Cami (0153)

Breed: Chihuahua
Sex: Female
Age: 4 years and 7 months
Size: Small

Details:

Meet Cami! She is a 4 year old long haired Chihuahua. This little girl was rescued from a Chihuahua puppy mill where she spent her life in a crate having one litter of puppies after another which has impacted upon her physically and emotionally. ... More...... She has not had the opportunity of learning that good things can happen when humans are around until being rescued. She is slowly developing her own personality living in her foster home with several other 4 legged friends. She enjoys the company of small dogs; is starting to wag her tail and coming to the door to greet her foster mom like all the rest of them. She has done well with her housetraining and she is 90% paper trained. She is doing well going outside but her right back leg is not very strong and tends to collapse on her presently, making walking fast or climbing difficult. She has a very healthy appetite and is in need of losing some weight which will help some with her walking. She is beginning to take some food from her foster mom and once picked up she will slowly relax to enjoy the company of her foster human companions. If you have patience, would be willing to learn about the care of puppy mill rescues and would like to help bring joy into this little girls life please consider adopting her. She has an Adoption Donation of $250.

Lucy (0154)

Breed: Chihuahua
Sex: Female
Age: 4 years and 1 months
Size: Small

Details:

Hello World, I am Lucy! I am a sweet little girl with skinny legs and a tall body. I have spent my whole 3 1/2 years of life in a crate, 24 hours a day, having an babies at a puppy mill. Thankfully they shut them down and Nuts for Mutts saved me! ... More...... Even more, thankfully it did not hurt my sweet personality! I love to feel comfortable and cozy - the couch is my favorite spot, buried in pillows and blankets. I do not mind my foster brother and sister, but I am not interested in playing with them either. Human touch is still a very nerve wracking thing for me that makes my whole body tremble, but when my foster mom makes me sit and lay with her, I get over it quite quickly though, I think I actually enjoy snuggling! I am going to need a gentle, quiet family that will love me enough to help me come out of my shell. I am also house trained and crate trained. I would prefer a family without young children, as loud noises confuse me still, and I need someone who enjoys a doggie that just will lay next to them for true, peaceful companionship. If you would like to meet me, please submit an Adoption Application online and someone will get in touch with you. Lucy has an Adoption Donation of $275.

Bubbles (0155)

Breed: Chihuahua
Sex: Female
Age: 4 years and 0 months
Size: Small

Details:

Meet Bubbles! Bubbles came to us as a rescue from a puppy mill in Missouri. She spent the entire four years of her life in a crate having babies, and had never stepped foot onto grass or dirt. Her foster mom says that Bubbles has adapted... More...... remarkably well to life outside of her crate! While she can still be skittish at times, she loves to sit near the humans in her home, and has taken to sleeping in the bed with them at night (and for a little dog, she has a mighty big snore!) Bubbles is in a home with other dogs and cats, but does not pay much attention to them. Her foster mom has never seen her play - simply because she does not know how! Except for her snoring, Bubbles is a very quiet dog and has never barked in her new home (seriously - not a peep!) Housebreaking is a 'work in progress' as she is still very nervous outside and will often not do any business while she is outside - and she can NEVER be left outside alone. Her foster parents do not want to put her under too much stress, so they are happy with baby steps. Bubbles will get the hang of it eventually - with a little patience and time. If you are looking for a quiet, cuddly, lovable companion, Bubbles just might be your girl! Her Adoption Donation is $275.
